Tham Nang Aen (Nang Aen Cave): This is a "pass-through" cave approximately 1,200 meters long, located in the area of Ban Phin, Thakhek district. It is situated about 18 kilometers from Thakhek via Road No. 12. Approximately 300 meters before reaching Ban Phin, there is a turn-off leading to the cave, which is about 600–700 meters from the main road.
Inside, there are stairs at various points for tourists to admire the natural beauty of the stalactites and stalagmites in various shapes. After walking through the cave, you will discover many species of large trees, various birds, and squirrels. The cave entrance offers a refreshing, cool breeze, leading many visitors to call it "natural air conditioning." This cooling effect is not a mystery; it is caused by natural air circulation from a large forested opening at the other end of the cave (the windward side).
The entrance area is well-equipped with parking, seating under the shade of trees, restaurants, restrooms, and guesthouses to provide convenience for visitors exploring this famous landmark of Thakhek.
