Khoun Kong Leng

Khoun Kong Leng is one of the most beautiful and charming natural attractions in Khammouane Province. Located within the Phou Hin Poun National Protected Area in Hinboun District, it is a natural spring fed by underground rivers flowing from the limestone karst mountains.From Thakhek town, take Route 13 South heading north (towards Vientiane).Drive for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach a junction on your right (marked with signs for Ban Na Khue or Khoun Kong Leng).Turn into the junction and continue along the paved road for another 15 kilometers to reach the destination.According to local folklore, villagers in the past often heard the mysterious sound of a "Gong" (drum) echoing from beneath the water or nearby caves every evening, especially on "Wan Sin" (Buddhist Holy Days). Because of this phenomenon, the locals named the site "Khoun Kong Leng" (The Spring of the Evening Drum).
