A Majestic Underground Wonder of the World
Xe Bang Fai Cave, located in Khammouane Province, is a massive river cave of significant geological importance. Over millions of years, the Xe Bang Fai River has carved its way through the limestone mountains, creating an enormous underground passage extending for several kilometers. While local communities have long known of and utilized the river system, the cave gained international recognition among explorers and researchers starting in the 1990s.
