
A sacred stupa and the spiritual heart of Khammouane Province, standing majestically on the banks of the Mekong River with a history spanning over 1,500 years.



Today, the stupa stands approximately 30 meters tall with a 25-meter wide base on each side. The peak is adorned with a stunning 7-tiered parasol (Sattasat) crafted from silver and gold, topped with a glowing glass orb—a unique hallmark of Lan Xang art.

The Sikhottabong Stupa Festival is the most significant traditional event for the people of Khammouane, held annually on the full moon of the 3rd lunar month. The grand festival features almsgiving, religious offerings, candlelight processions around the stupa, and massive vibrant celebrations.
